For years, my life looked remarkably successful on paper, but underneath the surface, I was running on empty. As an ex-military nurse, biological and longevity scientist, science teacher and a single mother of five, with a beautiful nineteen-year age gap between my eldest and youngest. I thought being an overachiever managing my life was simply a matter of managing my time. That illusion shattered in 2016 when burnout crept up on me and nearly cost me my life, my health, and my relationship with my children. Sitting on my bathroom floor amidst the exhaustion, I realised a profound truth: you cannot manage time when your energy tank is completely floored. That painful dark room became my map. It took seven years of quiet rebuilding, thousands invested in mentors, clinical research, and a deep study of nature’s biological laws to engineer the framework which quite honestly saved my life. An awareness as a biologist that our human vitality behaves exactly like the natural world, operating in sacred cycles of high expenditure and intentional, intermittent renewal.
Today, my heart is full because I have finally stepped out of hiding and back into the vibrant rhythm of the world. Rediscovering my own "one wild and precious life" meant embracing the very creative pursuits that nourish my spirit. You can often find me drawing or painting highland cows, sculpting with ceramics, swimming, strumming away on the guitar alongside my dad, or practicing the snare drum with my local pipe band—an extraordinarily meaningful pursuit that allows me to feel the close presence of my grandad, who was a Black Watch drum major way I showed up in the world. Stepping onto the field alongside incredible new friends and feeling supported by my children in all my little adventures and creative hobbies, is living proof of what happens when we stop letting fear dictate our visibility. Life is truly worth fighting for, and my hobbies and self-care are the daily rituals that continuously replenish my own tank so I can show up fully for my family, my community, and my purpose.
The deepest joy of my life now is reaching back into the dark to take the hand of other parents who feel entirely lost, stuck on auto-pilot, and dissociated from their own joy. I don’t consider myself a traditional coach focused on rigid, aggressive goals; I am a Way-finder. My clinical background and lived experiences have given me the unique capacity to hold a lantern and sit safely with people in the messy, unglamorous middle of their transformation, the part no one dares talk about out loud, I'm there without judgment. There is no greater reward than watching an exhausted mother or father learn to plug their energy leaks, build a sustainable home routine alongside their children, all while protecting their future health span. I do this work because I know the way out of the woods, and I am deeply privileged to guide families away from the baseline of survival and watch them step off auto-pilot, reclaim their vital life force, and stand tall on a path that fells deeply meaningful, familiar, and entirely their own.
